Care Instructions

  • Bowl: Dishwasher and microwave safe (hand wash is recommended to best preserve the unique glaze).
  • Whisk: Hand wash only. After use, rinse thoroughly with warm water (do not use soap) and allow to air dry completely, preferably on a whisk stand (chasen-tate) to maintain its shape.
  • As this is artisanal pottery, please expect minor imperfections and unique variations in the glaze, pattern, and shape.

About Kohiki Pottery

Kohiki ware is a traditional style of Japanese pottery known for its warm, rustic appearance. It is created by applying a white slip over a dark clay body, which is then covered with a translucent glaze. This technique results in a soft, powdered texture with subtle variations in colour, embodying the Japanese aesthetic of wabi-sabi (beauty in imperfection).
