EBM Japanese Katana-Style Wooden Knife Rack

Inspired by traditional katana sword stands, this wooden knife rack from EBM offers a minimalist and functional way to store and display your knives. Crafted in Japan from lightweight natural wood, the rack will develop a unique patina over time. Its open design keeps your blades protected and within easy reach.

What's Included

  • 1 x EBM Wooden Knife Rack

Key Features

  • Katana-Inspired Design: Offers a beautiful and respectful way to display your cherished Japanese knives, turning your collection into a countertop feature.
  • Open-Air Storage: Unlike traditional blocks, the open design promotes airflow, preventing moisture build-up and keeping your blades dry and in top condition.
  • Edge Protection: Stores knives on their spines or handle supports, ensuring the fine cutting edges never make contact with the wood.
  • Made in Japan: Crafted from natural wood in Japan, the stand is lightweight yet stable and will develop a unique character as it ages.

Sizing & Capacity

Please check the following dimensions to ensure your knives will fit:

  • Capacity: The rack has three tiers, designed to hold multiple knives.
  • Vertical Clearance: Each tier provides a vertical clearance of 60mm (6cm). This is the maximum height of the knife blade (from spine to edge) that can fit between the support pegs.
  • Blade Length: The rack's total length is 24.2cm, making it suitable for a wide range of knife lengths, from smaller petty knives to longer chef's knives.

Care Instructions

  • Wipe clean with a dry or slightly damp cloth.
  • Do not soak or submerge in water.
  • As a natural wood product, its colour and grain will vary.

What Made Okunoto Konro Grills / Hibachi Grills So Special?
  • Okunoto konro grills are frequently seen in cooking competitions. Popular in Japanese barbeque restaurants.
  • Uses diatom mud from the Noto Peninsula in Ishikawa Prefecture.
  • Diatom mud is an excellent heat insulator. Walls of the grill are over 5cm thick.
  • When used with binchotan, the heat is high, consistent, and concentrated. Provides an exceptional barbeque experience.
  • Suitable for grilling wagyu, yakitori, fish, vegetables, and various barbeque recipes.

Use and Maintenance
  • Avoid carbon monoxide poisoning. Always grill outdoors in well-ventilated areas.
  • Take proper care to extinguish the fire. Do not use water. If water is absorbed, diatom mud becomes brittle. It will also lose its durability.
  • When cleaning the grill, do not use water. Instead, gently remove the ash and food residue.
