Setup & Safe Use
Important: This is a charcoal grill intended for outdoor use only, unless used in a professionally ventilated indoor setting. The ceramic body retains heat. Always place on the included wooden base to protect your table. Handle with care, as ceramic can crack from sudden temperature changes (thermal shock).
Setup Instructions:
- Place the wooden base on a stable, heat-proof surface.
- Set the outer grill body on the wooden base.
- Place the inner charcoal holder inside the outer body.
- Safely light your charcoal. Once lit, carefully place it into the inner holder.
- Place the wire grill mesh on top.
Cleaning & Care:
- Allow the grill to cool completely naturally before cleaning.
- Never use water to extinguish hot charcoal or clean a hot grill, as this can cause the ceramic to crack.
- Once cool, dispose of ash from the inner pot.
- Hand wash components with warm water. A brush may be used for the mesh.
- Ensure all parts are completely dry before storing to prevent mould.
- This product is not dishwasher safe.

What Made Okunoto Konro Grills / Hibachi Grills So Special?
- Okunoto konro grills are frequently seen in cooking competitions. Popular in Japanese barbeque restaurants.
- Uses diatom mud from the Noto Peninsula in Ishikawa Prefecture.
- Diatom mud is an excellent heat insulator. Walls of the grill are over 5cm thick.
- When used with binchotan, the heat is high, consistent, and concentrated. Provides an exceptional barbeque experience.
- Suitable for grilling wagyu, yakitori, fish, vegetables, and various barbeque recipes.
Use and Maintenance
- Avoid carbon monoxide poisoning. Always grill outdoors in well-ventilated areas.
- Take proper care to extinguish the fire. Do not use water. If water is absorbed, diatom mud becomes brittle. It will also lose its durability.
- When cleaning the grill, do not use water. Instead, gently remove the ash and food residue.
