About Kohiki Pottery
Kohiki ceramics are a unique style of pottery originating from Korea and introduced to Japan in the 16th century. The distinctive characteristic is its appearance, which resembles white powder (Kona) spread on the ceramics. This effect is achieved by covering a dark clay body with a thin white slip, followed by a translucent glaze. The result is a soft texture and a warm, milky white finish that contrasts with the darker clay body underneath.
About Mino Ware
Mino ware (Mino-yaki) is a style of Japanese pottery produced in the Gifu Prefecture, Japan's largest pottery-producing region. Its history is over 1300 years old, and its adaptable designs have evolved to suit changing lifestyles, making it the most popular style of pottery in Japan today.
