How much time is saved? By cooking a 1.5kg chicken in your double pan (as shown in the video), you save 10 minutes of cooking time and 15 minutes to preheat. The dish will be ready 25 minutes sooner.

  • Please note that we used the standard size of Happycall's double pan. Many customers misjudge the size of the standard pan and equate it with "small." However, we believe the standard size is perfect for most foods.
  • If you use the jumbo size of the Happycall double pan, cook a bigger chicken (less than 2kg) to achieve a similar result.
  • Users need basic cooking skills, like checking food periodically during the cooking process and cleaning the oil trap as needed.
  • You can cook your chicken in the double pan and keep the meat tender and moist. Be sure the juice is clear and chicken bone has no blood. If you prefer your meat to be drier, simply cook the chicken for an additional 5 minutes.

Ingredients

  • 1 whole chicken (less then 1.5kg)
  • 1 potato (only half)
  • 1 carrot (only half)
  • 1 whole tomato
  • 3-4 pieces of broccoli
  • 6-8 cloves of garlic (finely minced)

Seasoning

  • Ground red pepper
  • Salt
  • Ground black pepper

Tips

  • Skip the oven and save energy. No preheating is necessary with the Happycall double pan. The pan also keeps juices inside.
  • To ensure the skin is grilled properly, do not use seasoning in liquid form such as a marinade or soy sauce. We suggest starting with plain chicken seasoned with dry ingredients such as salt and your preferred powdered seasonings like red pepper.
  • Remember the times listed below are for reference only.

Steps

  1. Ensure the chicken is at room temperature (not just removed from the fridge). Season the whole chicken with salt, and then place the skin side down.
  2. Use a kitchen towel to dry the inside of the chicken. Neither side should be very wet.

  3. Cut off any excess skin.
  4. Add minced garlic, black pepper, salt and red pepper powder. Rub evenly over the chicken.
  5. Turn the chicken skin side up and add red pepper.
  6. Important: Place the double pan with the upper side (thinner side) downward. Preheat on high heat for for about 30 seconds.

  7. Place the chicken in the pan skin side down. Close the pan and heat for about 3 minutes. Then turn to low heat and cook for another 3 minutes.
  8. Flip the double pan. You can open it a little to check the meat. Then keep heating on this side over low heat for 15 minutes. (If the skin is not properly grilled, do NOT turn back to other side, as this will soften the skin. Remember the skin will keep cooking even it is now facing up).
  9. Prepare and cut the vegetables while the chicken cooks for 15 minutes.
  10. Open the lid and add the vegetables.

  11. Close the lid and keep cooking for another 10 minutes on low heat. The whole process should take about 35 minutes without no preheating necessary.
  12. The chicken is very juicy. Remember to clean the oil trap as needed.

  13. Note that the cook in the video detached the lid from the double pan while still on the stovetop. If you are not familiar with the product, it is best to move the chicken to a plate for serving.
  14. Enjoy!

Additonal information:

  1. Remember a reasonably heated pan and heated oil (not overheating) are key.
  2. Users will need basic cooking techniques and common sense (understanding of proper heat control, knowing how to check the food periodically, and so on).
