- My Cookware Australia® opens in Chatswood, stocking the Japanese and Korean cookware we wanted to use ourselves.
- The online store launches, and we begin buying directly from Japanese makers — Mino ware plates from family potteries, konro grills and binchotan charcoal, rice cookers that treat rice with the respect it deserves, and woks that get better the more you cook with them.
- A well-known Sydney restaurant places its first order. More followed — among them Crown Sydney, By Sang, Ormeggio at The Spit and the Sheraton. We didn't set out to be a restaurant supplier; chefs just kept walking into the shop.

Inside Out magazine photographs our Aito Seto Yaki Hana plates across a two-page spread in its "Out | Entertaining" section.
- We start collaborating with celebrity and professional chefs, become a supplier to The Cook Up on SBS Food, and begin stocking Noritake's Adam Liaw Everyday collection.

Good Food returns — this time for the shop itself. In The Sun-Herald's "best of Chatswood" guide, My Cookware Australia is described as "one of Australia's finest purveyors of premium Japanese cookware", with our konro grills, rice cookers, clay pots and yukihira saucepans singled out.
