Ise Mizu Donabe Konro Grill - Size 10 - Brown
The Ise Mizu is a clay donabe konro with a water jacket: fill the outer pot with water, and it keeps the clay body cooler and the heat gentle and moist. Where the Kinka Okunoto is built for the strongest radiant heat, the Ise Mizu cooks more softly — suited to seafood, vegetables and delicate skewers.
Size 10 suits two to four people: the grill is about 29cm across, and the charcoal sits on a 28cm diatomite trivet with room for five or six skewers above it. A session takes about 500g of binchotan, and at 3.2kg it carries easily to the table. Also available in khaki, or the smaller Size 7 for two to three.

What binchotan and tools does the Ise Mizu Size 10 need?
The Size 10 takes about 500g of binchotan a session — its trivet is about 28cm across and 7cm deep, so fill it no more than two-thirds deep. A 2kg bag of Tosa binchotan is about four sessions, and leftovers can be extinguished and lit again. See the full binchotan range by region and cut.
Then, in the order you will use them:
- Water — fill the outer pot up to the inner ridge, then set the trivet in place above the waterline.
- Natural firelighters — six to eight cubes at the bottom of the chimney.
- Charcoal chimney — light the binchotan in it, away from the grill; allow 30–45 minutes.
- Chimney mesh — keep a separate mesh just for the chimney: lay it over the top to stop popping charcoal and sparks flying out. A 27 x 21cm mesh fits.
- Long charcoal tongs — move the glowing charcoal onto the trivet at arm's length; the wooden handles stay cool in the hand.
- Extinguishing pot — puts the fire out and saves the leftover charcoal; the 2-in-1 chimney doubles as one.

Important Notes
- Outdoor use only, in a well-ventilated space, on the included wooden base.
- The grill and trivet get very hot. Handle with heat-resistant mitts.
- The trivet is consumable. Diatomite cracks with heat over time — this is normal, and the trivet can stay in use until it starts to break apart. Replacement trivets are sold separately. This applies to the trivet only — if the clay grill body itself ever cracks, stop using the grill and contact us.
- Keep water off the trivet. Brush off the ash once it is cool; water damages diatomite.
- No change-of-mind returns. Clay grills are delicate, so please choose carefully.
