Ise Mizu Diatomaceous Earth Trivet - Size 10

The replacement diatomite trivet for the Ise Mizu Donabe Konro Grill - Size 10, in brown or khaki. It sits inside the clay pot above the water jacket and holds the charcoal, so the clay body never takes the direct heat.

Check your size: this trivet is about 28cm across and 7cm deep, for the Size 10 grill (about 29cm across). The Size 7 grill (about 20cm across) takes the Size 7 trivet.

Diatomite cracks with heat over time — this is normal, and a trivet can stay in use until it starts to break apart. With regular grilling, expect to replace it every one to two years.

Use and Care

• Keep it dry. Brush off the ash once it is cool; water damages diatomite.
• Light the charcoal elsewhere. Light it in a charcoal chimney, then move it onto the trivet with tongs.
• Do not overfill. About 500g of binchotan, no more than two-thirds of the trivet's depth.
• No change-of-mind returns. Diatomite is delicate, so please check your size before ordering.
