Get ready to be swept away by a wave of citrusy zest and tropical extravagance with this sake cocktail. We call it the "Yuzu Bliss", a name inspired by its distinct yuzu flavour.

This delightful concoction showcases the refined harmony of fruity sake and invigorating yuzu, with a kiss of peach liquor and grapefruit juice. The cocktail's frothy egg white and passion fruit garnish will leave you feeling nothing short of blissful.

My Cookware Recipe Sake Cocktail

Ingredients:

  • 60ml sake
  • 15ml peach liquor
  • 45ml grapefruit juice
  • 7.5ml kochi yuzu
  • 1 egg white
  • Passion fruit pulp and slice for garnish

Spotlight on Yuzu

Let's highlight yuzu, our cocktail's star ingredient. This unique citrus fruit originates from East Asia and is celebrated for its distinctive flavour and aroma, which is a fascinating blend of grapefruit, mandarin, and lime.

In our Yuzu Bliss cocktail, we specifically use Kochi Yuzu from Japan's Kochi Prefecture, a region renowned for its high-quality yuzu. The Kochi Yuzu's bright, refreshing citrus note complements the fruity flavours of the sake and the peach liqueur, and adds an extra layer of complexity and uniqueness to the cocktail.

So, when you sip your Yuzu Bliss, savour the tradition, culture, and artistry that the unique yuzu brings to your drink. It's an experience that goes beyond taste, touching on the essence of culinary craftsmanship.

Instructions:

  1. Start by gathering your ingredients and your cocktail shaker.
  2. Pour the sake, peach liquor, grapefruit juice, and kochi yuzu into the shaker.
  3. Crack the egg, being careful to only get the egg white into the shaker. The egg white will give your cocktail a lovely frothy texture.
  4. Now it's time to shake it up. Add some ice into the shaker and give it a vigorous shake for about 20 seconds. This is not only going to chill your cocktail but also perfectly blend your ingredients together.
  5. Take your Toyo Sasaki Takasegawa handmade amber sake glass and add a teaspoon of passion fruit pulp at the bottom. This will provide a delightful surprise as you drink your cocktail.
  6. Strain your shaken cocktail into your sake glass, making sure to capture the frothy top.
  7. Finish off by garnishing with a slice of passion fruit for that extra tropical touch.
  8. And voilà, your Yuzu Bliss is ready to be savoured. Enjoy this symphony of flavours in every sip.
