Toyo Sasaki Takasegawa Sake Glasses & Masu Cups - Set of 2
This set comes with two Toyo Sasaki sake glasses and two masu cups. Masu cups are made of a wood called hinoki cypress (檜), which enhances sake's flavour.
- Place the sake glass in the masu cup.
- Pour the sake into the glass until it overflows and fills the masu cups.
- After drinking sake from the glass, drink the remainder from masu cups.
- A masu cup can also be used as a sake cup.
A masu cup is a Japanese tradition and was used as a measurement unit for a long time. There is 180ml capacity in each masu cup, which is known as the Gō (合) in Japanese. Rice cooking also used the same measurement unit.
