Ale-net Sakura Unofu Matcha Bowl - 450ml - Pink

The Ale-net Sakura Unofu Matcha Bowl is a traditional Japanese tea bowl (chawan) crafted for preparing and serving matcha. A textured pink and white unofu glaze with a speckled matte finish covers the exterior and interior, while an organically shaped, uneven rim gives each piece a distinct handcrafted character.

The wide 12.6cm diameter and rounded base provide ample space for a bamboo whisk to aerate matcha powder and water efficiently. Made from Mino ware porcelain in Japan, each bowl carries slight natural variations in glaze and shape that make it uniquely its own.

About Unofu Glaze

Unofu is a traditional Japanese glaze recognised by its matte texture and speckled appearance. Named after the white unohana flower, the glaze produces natural colour variations and a distinct tactile finish across the ceramic surface, ensuring no two pieces are identical.

About Mino Ware

Mino ware (Mino-yaki) is a style of Japanese pottery produced in the Gifu Prefecture, Japan's largest pottery-producing region. Its history spans over 1,300 years, and its adaptable designs have evolved to suit changing lifestyles, making it the most popular style of pottery in Japan today.

Use & Care
  • Care guide: How to care for handmade Japanese tableware.
  • Microwave & dishwasher: Most of our tableware handles both, but pieces with gold or metallic accents should stay out of the microwave — check each product page.
  • First use: A quick wash in warm water is all new pieces need.
  • Stacking: Place a cloth or paper between stacked pieces to protect glazes from scratching.
  • Stubborn stains: A soak in warm water with a little baking soda lifts tea and coffee stains gently.

  • Every piece is unique: Slight variations in glaze, colour and shape are the mark of handcrafted pottery — no two pieces are exactly alike, and that's the point.
