About Shino Ware
Shino ware (Shino-yaki) is a style of Japanese pottery that first appeared during the Momoyama period (16th century) in Mino province. It is identifiable by its thick, milky white glaze, often with hints of red or orange scorch marks and a pitted texture. Shino ware is celebrated for its rustic simplicity and is deeply connected to the aesthetics of the Japanese tea ceremony.
