These elegant Japanese chopsticks feature a smooth, black finish, accented with a decorative white band showcasing a 'karakusa' (arabesque) pattern in a painterly blue style. In Japanese culture, this scrolling vine motif is a traditional symbol for prosperity and longevity.

Part of the Tonbo-dama series, the intricate detail is inspired by the look of 'Tonbo-dama' (dragonfly beads), a form of traditional glass art which gives the chopsticks a refined, jewel-like quality. At 23cm, they are a standard length for comfortable adult use.
