The Harukasumi Matcha Bowl is crafted in Japan using Mino ware techniques, known for their balanced form and subtle glazing. Its name, meaning “spring haze,” is reflected in the gentle blue gradient over a soft white porcelain base. The smooth, semi-translucent glaze complements the vibrant green of matcha tea.

This set includes a 100-prong bamboo whisk (chasen), offering the traditional method for preparing matcha. The whisk is designed to produce a fine froth and ensure a smooth, balanced consistency. Together, the bowl and whisk provide the essentials for both casual enjoyment and ceremonial preparation.

Care Instructions

  • Bowl: Dishwasher and microwave safe (hand wash is recommended to best preserve the unique glaze).
  • Whisk: Hand wash only. After use, rinse thoroughly with warm water (do not use soap) and allow to air dry completely, preferably on a whisk stand (kuse naoshi) to maintain its shape.
  • As this is artisanal pottery, please expect minor imperfections and unique variations in the glaze, pattern, and shape.
