What’s included?

Keisai Miyajima Matcha Bowl - 450ml

A matcha bowl (chawan) from the Keisai series, in the Miyajima colourway. A pale oatmeal glaze flows down over a deep amber-brown (ame) base, while the glossy brown interior sets off the green of whisked matcha.

The 450ml bowl is 11.7cm across with a rounded body that sits comfortably in the hand. Where the two glazes meet varies from piece to piece, so each bowl is unique. Mino ware, made in Japan.

What's Included

  • 1 x Keisai Miyajima Matcha Bowl - 450ml

Also available as the Keisai Miyajima Matcha Bowl & Whisk Set, which includes a 100-prong bamboo whisk (chasen).

About Keisai

The Keisai series takes its colours from Japanese scenery. Miyajima pairs a deep amber-brown ame glaze with a pale overglaze that runs down the sides during firing.

Use & Care
  • Care guide: How to care for handmade Japanese tableware.
  • Microwave & dishwasher: Most of our tableware handles both, but pieces with gold or metallic accents should stay out of the microwave — check each product page.
  • First use: A quick wash in warm water is all new pieces need.
  • Stacking: Place a cloth or paper between stacked pieces to protect glazes from scratching.
  • Stubborn stains: A soak in warm water with a little baking soda lifts tea and coffee stains gently.

  • Every piece is unique: Slight variations in glaze, colour and shape are the mark of handcrafted pottery — no two pieces are exactly alike, and that's the point.
