The SHICHITA series began with a true story: one 7th of July — Tanabata, Japan's Star Festival — a stray cat wandered into a Mino ware workshop and never left. Named Shichita after the day of his arrival, he and his feline friends became the faces of this much-loved tableware series. Each plate in this set is decorated with the full gathering of Shichita and his companions, hand-drawn in indigo blue on white porcelain.

At 10cm across, these mini plates are the classic Japanese mamezara size — ideal for soy sauce and dipping sauces, condiments, wagashi sweets, and small snacks, or as a resting dish for teabags, jewellery, and keys. Made in Japan and supplied in a product box, the set of five is a natural choice for cat lovers, housewarmings, and birthdays.
