*Heat retention is measured to the Japanese industry standard: water at a starting temperature of 95°C in a 20°C room. Real-world performance depends on how full the jar is — filled to the line it holds temperature far longer than half-full, because the air gap loses heat. Pre-heating the jar with boiling water before filling adds further hours.
**Cold retention is measured with water at 4°C in a 20°C room.
