Ichibishi Clear Oil Basting Set - Small

A small oil pot and cotton brush for wiping a thin film of oil over a pan. The pot is clear polycarbonate, so you can see how much oil is left without opening it. A spring inside lifts the brush clear of the oil when you put it back, so the head is not left soaking.

Use it to oil a carbon steel wok or frypan after washing, or to grease a tamagoyaki pan, takoyaki plate or griddle before cooking. The cotton head is the same size as Ichibishi's stainless steel set, and a replacement brush head is sold separately.

What's Included

  • 1 x Ichibishi Clear Oil Basting Set - Small

Key Features

  • Clear Polycarbonate Pot: Shows the oil level at a glance.

Care Instructions

  • Hand wash the pot with warm, soapy water and dry before refilling.
  • Squeeze excess oil from the brush after use; replace the head when it becomes stiff or worn.

Use & Care
  • Care guide: Our step-by-step guide and video for seasoning and care.
  • First use: A one-time 5-minute oil seasoning is all it takes.
  • After cooking: Wash with warm water while still warm, dry thoroughly over low heat, then wipe on a thin coat of oil.
  • Storage: Don't leave food sitting in the pan — it's a cooking tool, not a storage container.
  • Rust: Almost always a sign of too little oil. Scrub it off and re-season — the pan will recover.
  • Acidic foods: Tomatoes and vinegar are fine in short bursts — read our guide before simmering them.
Good to Know
  • Patina: Marks, stains and darkening with use are normal — the surface improves as you cook.
  • Nitrided vs non-nitrided: Nitriding strengthens the steel and resists rust — our buying guide explains the difference between brands.
  • Prefer no seasoning? Our nonstick guide covers the low-maintenance alternative.
  • Induction: Most of our carbon steel range is induction-compatible — check the specs on each product page.
