What's Included

  • Saji Tokusa Mini Donabe Base
  • Dual-Purpose Lid / Bowl

Key Features

  • Dual-Purpose Lid & Bowl: The intelligently designed lid can be inverted to become a personal serving bowl, perfect for a complete, self-contained meal.
  • Perfect for Single Servings: With a 520ml capacity, this donabe is the ideal size for individual portions of noodles, rice dishes, or stews.
  • Classic Tokusa Pattern: Features the traditional blue and white striped design, bringing an authentic Japanese aesthetic to your table.
  • Superior Heat Retention: Crafted from high-quality clay, it retains heat exceptionally well to keep your meal warm to the last bite.
  • Made in Japan: Authentic, high-quality craftsmanship from Japan's renowned pottery regions.

Initial Seasoning (Medome) & Care

Before first use, your donabe must be seasoned. This traditional process, called medome, seals the porous clay to prevent cracks and stains. Please refer to the comprehensive user guide linked above for detailed instructions. Note: As the lid has no steam vent (to allow it to function as a bowl), it may need to be slightly offset during some cooking processes to allow steam to escape.
