Initial Seasoning (Medome) & Care
Before first use, your donabe must be seasoned. This traditional process, called medome, seals the porous clay to prevent cracks and stains. Note: As the lid has no steam vent (to allow it to function as a bowl), it may need to be slightly offset during some cooking processes to allow steam to escape.
