Kayanuno Mt. Fuji Embroidered Cloth

Traditional Kayanuno cloth offers a unique texture and exceptional performance. Crafted in Nara, Japan—the historic home of 'kaya' fabric—this versatile kitchen cloth, or 'fukin', is an eco-friendly and highly practical staple in Japanese homes. Adorned with a delicate embroidered Mt. Fuji, it brings a touch of iconic Japanese beauty to your daily kitchen routine.

When new, the fabric is stiff with a natural starch. After a simple first wash to remove the starch, the 8 layers of rayon fabric shrink and become incredibly soft, pliable, and exceptionally absorbent.

What's Included

  • 1 x Kayanuno Mt. Fuji Embroidered Cloth

Also available as part of the Kayanuno Embroidered Cloth Gift Set - 5-Piece.

Key Features

  • Super Absorbent & Durable: The 8-ply rayon fabric becomes incredibly soft and absorbent after the first wash, making it perfect for drying dishes, wiping spills, or even as a hygienic food cloth.
  • Quick-Drying & Hygienic: The loose, net-like weave allows for excellent airflow, so the cloth dries much faster than regular towels, preventing mildew and odours.
  • Delicate Embroidery: Features a small, beautifully embroidered Mt. Fuji, adding a touch of Japanese elegance.
  • Eco-Friendly & Reusable: An excellent, long-lasting replacement for disposable paper towels for drying vegetables or straining broths.

Care Instructions

  • First Use: Before its first use, thoroughly rinse the cloth in warm water to wash away the natural starch. The cloth will shrink and become very soft.
  • Washing: Machine or hand washable. The cloth becomes softer with each wash.
  • Drying: Hang to air dry. The open weave allows it to dry very quickly. Do not use a tumble dryer.
