Proper washing is the crucial first step to cooking good rice. Developed with Japanese rice experts, the Marna Kiwami (Ultimate) Rice Washer & Strainer gently washes away excess starch and drains the water without losing a grain — and without cold hands.

  • 2-in-1 Design: Combines a gentle whisk for washing and an integrated strainer for draining, all in one tool.
  • Gentle on Grains: The unique whisk head agitates the rice to release surface starch without breaking the delicate grains, a key to fluffy rice.
  • Efficient Draining: The long slits on the top of the tool allow you to quickly drain cloudy water while effectively holding back every grain of rice.

How to Use

  1. Place rice in your bowl and add cold water.
  2. Use the whisk end to gently stir the rice 10-20 times.
  3. Use the top of the tool as a strainer to block the rice as you pour out the cloudy water.
  4. Repeat the wash-and-drain process 2 to 3 times. Over-washing can remove flavour.
