Zojirushi Pressure IH Rice Cooker - 10 Cups (NW-YAQ18)
The NW-YAQ18 is the large-capacity version of the first Zojirushi pressure induction-heating (IH) rice cooker approved for Australia. Its multi-pressure structure varies the pressure through the cooking cycle to cook the same white rice to three different textures, then closes with a pressurised steaming stage that settles moisture evenly through each grain. It cooks from just 1 cup up to 10 cups of white rice.
Pressure is applied automatically on the menus that gain from it, and switched off for congee and quinoa, which would otherwise boil over. There is no loose pressure control ball and no separate steam vent cap, so only the inner pot and the inner lid set need washing after each use. If you do not need pressure, the NW-QAQ18 IH Micom is the non-pressure alternative. Also available in a 5.5-cup size (NW-YAQ10).

- Pressure IH Cooking: Induction heats the entire inner pot while pressure raises the cooking temperature above 100°C for a softer, fuller-textured grain.
- Thick Spheric Inner Pot: A 1.7 mm black spheric nonstick pan carries induction heat evenly around the rice.

- Pressure Only Where It Helps: Pressure runs on the white, brown, multigrain and oat menus and is switched off automatically for congee and quinoa.
- Easy-Clean Inner Lid: The inner lid, pressure control valve and filter lift out as one unit with no loose pressure ball and no separate steam vent cap to wash.
- Keep Warm up to 24 Hours: Regular Keep Warm holds white rice for 12 hours and the low-temperature Extended mode for 24, with the keep-warm temperature adjustable across seven levels.
- Two Preset Timers: Cooking can be set to finish up to 13 hours ahead, with two stored preset times and a memory battery that keeps them when the cooker is unplugged.
- Self-Cleaning Cycle: A 60-minute pressurised steam cycle reduces odours around the inner lid and steam vent.
- SAA Approved & Made in Japan: Built in Japan, and the first Zojirushi pressure IH model approved for Australian homes (Approval No. NSW29937).
A Note on Pressure Cooking
The outer lid locks while pressure is applied and will not open until the PRESSURE indicator has cleared from the display, and steam from the vent is very hot during cooking. Fill only to the marked water level for the menu selected — this cooker is designed for rice and the menus listed above, not for stews, beans, pasta or foods that foam or expand.
