Seasoning & Care
Before first use, perform medome (rice porridge seasoning) to seal the clay and prevent cracking or leaking. Full step-by-step instructions are in our donabe user guide.
- Avoid sudden temperature changes (e.g. do not put a cold pot on high heat, or place a hot pot on a cold or wet surface).
- Hand wash only once cooled. Do not soak for extended periods.
- Dry thoroughly before storage to prevent mould. Remove the steel plate before microwave use.
