Easy care tip

In harder water areas like Perth, Adelaide and Brisbane, a little white mineral build-up inside is normal for any boiler — a quick descale with citric acid keeps it like new.

Tiger Electric Water Boiler & Warmer - 5L (PDU-A50A)

A Japanese-made electric water boiler that holds five litres at the temperature you choose, so hot water is ready without waiting for a kettle. Four keep-warm settings cover coffee and black tea, oolong, green tea, and lukewarm water for baby formula.

The stainless steel body, non-stick inner pot and set of safety functions — empty-pot shut-off, dispensing lock and spill protection — make it suited to a large household or an office. The 4L PDU-A40A is the same appliance in a smaller body.

What's Included

  • 1 x Tiger PDU-A50A Water Boiler & Warmer
  • 1 x Australian Power Cord & Plug

Key Features

  • Four Keep-Warm Settings: 98°C, 90°C, 80°C and 70°C, matched to different drinks.
  • Multiple Safety Functions: Empty-pot shut-off, dispensing lock and spill protection.
  • Energy-Saving Timer: A 6 to 10 hour timer turns the heater off until it is needed again.
  • Non-Stick Inner Pot: Wipes clean and makes descaling straightforward.
  • Made in Japan: Built and certified to Australian standards (SAA).

Care Instructions

  • Clean the non-stick inner pot with a soft sponge only — never an abrasive pad.
  • Descale every two to three months. Limescale from tap water slows heating and clouds the water. Use the Tiger citric acid cleaner and follow the step-by-step guide.
  • Wipe the exterior with a damp cloth. The main unit holds electrical components and must never be submerged.

Important Notes

  • Read the user guide in full before first use.
  • A faint resin smell during the first few uses is normal. Boil and dispense a full pot of water once before using it for drinks.

Good to Know

All rice cookers we stock are Australian 240V models sold with local warranty — not grey imports.

Size: capacity is measured in cups of uncooked rice. A 1-cup or 3-cup cooker suits singles and couples, a 5.5-cup feeds a household of 3–5, and a 10-cup suits larger families or batch cooking.

Heating: base-heat models are simple and affordable, induction (IH) heats more evenly for noticeably better rice, and IH pressure models are the top tier — softer, sweeter rice and better brown rice. Not sure which? Read Induction vs conventional rice cookers.
