Mikawa Konro Grill Starter Set - 38cm - Red

This starter set provides all the essentials for an authentic Japanese tabletop barbecue experience, perfectly sized for groups of 4-6 people. This comprehensive kit allows you to start grilling right out of the box with premium components selected for performance and durability.

The centrepiece is the large, rectangular Mikawa Konro—often known as a hibachi grill in Australia. Its durable red steel exterior protects a thick interior of natural diatomite, a material prized for its superior heat insulation. This efficient design is perfect for lining up yakitori skewers and ensures charcoal burns consistently for juicy, flavourful results.

What's in the Starter Set

Key Features

  • All-In-One Barbecue Kit: Includes everything required to begin grilling immediately, from the insulated grill to premium Japanese white charcoal.
  • Excellent Heat Performance: The natural diatomite interior provides exceptional insulation, allowing the included Hyuga Binchotan to burn hotter and more efficiently.
  • Durable & Stable Design: Features a protective red steel exterior with reinforced metal corners and includes a wooden base for safe tabletop use.
  • Ideal for Yakitori: The long, rectangular shape is designed specifically for skewers, supported by the 15 included stainless steel skewers.

Safe Use & Care

For outdoor use only. The grill body becomes extremely hot during operation. Always place the unit on the included wooden base and handle with care. A grill of this size typically requires around 1kg of binchotan per session. Never use water to extinguish charcoal inside the grill; let it burn out naturally or use a dedicated charcoal extinguisher pot.

A Note on Natural Materials

This grill is manufactured with a natural diatomite mud interior. Minor cosmetic imperfections, such as small chips, hairline cracks, or an uneven texture on the interior clay, are a normal and celebrated characteristic of this handcrafted material. These do not affect the grill's performance or safety.
